Afghanistan Prison Riot

Four inmates were killed while 33 others (including 20 police officers) were hurt after rioting at the Pul-e-Charkhi prison on Tuesday. The rioting began after police started narcotics searches in some of the cells at the prison according to the Ministry of Interior Affairs. Four buildings were searched in the morning but trouble arose after a group of prisoners attacked police as the remaining buildings were searched. During this particular incident, 10 police officers were injured.
